The May 2021 Bayberry Community Association monthly meeting will be held on May 2, 2021 at 7:00pm online using Zoom. If you would like to attend, please email bcaexecboard@gmail.com for an invitation.

The main discussion of the May 2nd meeting of the Bayberry Community Association will be to determine the future of the BCA. The organization has been reaching out to residents for many months looking for volunteers as active members/officers to help lead its group of volunteers in the activities and events it provides and sponsors for the residents of Bayberry without success.

For over 60 years this organization has assisted its residents in matters of public safety, quality of life, social events and issues which effect Bayberry and the entire Town of Clay—it appears this may come to an end. Although Covid-19 has certainly curtailed nearly all the activities of 2020 to the present, that certainly won’t last forever and the BCA has adapted to allowable activities. There has been a core group of residents trying to avoid the BCA’s demise, however they can only do so much on their own with limited time, so without more volunteers dissolution will result. Besides volunteers the organization is looking for residents to participate with the infrastructure of the BCA as board members and plan and implement the activities and the “day to day” (which really is not a lot!).

In addition to the residents of Bayberry, the other groups which will be affected by the BCA’s demise: NOVA, Moyers Corners Fire Dept, Bayberry Scholarship recipients, children’s groups and sponsors who also help support the BCA.

What you will LOSE are the following: BCA Scholarship, flowers planted at the Blackberry and Blueberry areas, Earth Day Clean Up, Santa Visit, Halloween Parade, Christmas Tree Lighting, Holiday Decorating Contest, Community Wide Garage Sale and a voice at Town Hall. Are you sure you don’t have an hour or two a month to help out your community?

Participation in this Zoom Meeting will determine the BCA’s fate, this decision was not an easy one to make, but sadly maybe the time has come.
