A letter to Bayberry from Michael Hoosock, Battalion Chief:
Good evening, I’m writing you today on behalf of the Moyers Corners Fire Department. We will be participating in the annual statewide volunteer recruitment effort sponsored by the Fireman’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY). This event will be held on April 23rd, 2016, at our station 2 located at 7697 Morgan Road. The event runs from 9am to 3pm. Volunteer firefighters locally, statewide, and nationally are finding that our numbers are dwindling at an alarming rate. We are lucky here in Moyers Corners, but we could always use new members to help stay ahead of the curve. We would love to get new applicants, but even if people don’t want to apply we encourage them to come out and meet their local volunteers. We are also hoping to have representatives from the Sheriff’s, NOVA ambulance, and other local agencies but they have not confirmed yet.
