An update to the BCA Bylaws will be voted on at the May Membership/Board Meeting. The updates are primarily to create “at large” board memberships and to no longer include area reps as part of the board by default.  The idea is to have a well informed, responsive board of residents that have committed to coming to meetings, keeping up with matters pertaining to the Association and being available to make time sensitive decisions by email.
Area reps are still heartily encouraged to come to represent the interests of the residents in their area, may always speak at meetings and are welcome to become “at large” board members if they want to take a regular, active part in governance.
The only other significant change is that we are removing bonding for the treasurer and president. Bonding is expensive given the limited assets of the Association and hasn’t taken place in years. We already have other mechanisms in place to ensure financial accountability such as our monthly treasurer’s report and yearly audit.
There are a few other minor procedural updates.  You can follow the links below to see the old and new bylaws.
